In October of 2012 it was announced that local grocery chain Johnnie’s Foodmaster had sold the leases for six of it’s locations to the supermarket giant Whole Foods Market, Inc. During the month following this announcement, Foodmarket locations scrambled to sell what was left on their shelves. Leaving the stores empty.
